Dave
Lynch - Owner, Instructor, Master Craftsman - Honing his skills
over 37 years in guitar performance and music composition, and with over
34 years in guitar repair, construction and modification, Dave has come to
be known as the "Guitar Guru of Sacramento". Having attended
the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Boston, and a two time recipient
of the Sacramento Sammie® Award in the "Best Jazz Musician"
category, Dave has spent over 40 years mastering the art of the guitar.
He frequently performs with his band The
Dave Lynch Group in the Sacramento area and has released two CD's.
His third CD is in production. |
Doug Pauly
-
An enthusiastic and
knowledgeable educator, Doug has been a professional guitarist since 1971.
Doug is an alumnus of The Berklee College of Music, Boston.
He appears throughout Northern California both as a leader
and sideman in concert and for private and corporate events. He has
released two recordings of solo guitar, featuring his own arrangements of
popular music ranging from George Gershwin to Jimi Hendrix. |

Nokes Kelley -
Holds a
Baccalaureate Degree in Music from Berklee College of Music, Boston.
He has played professionally with numerous bands in Los Angeles, San
Francisco, Boston and the Sacramento area. Nokes has studied guitar
with both Dave and Doug as well as Henry Robinette and Steve Homan. "I can teach you to read and write your own music from beginning to
advanced." |

Greg Williams
- Has
over 16 years experience teaching privately in the Sacramento area, holds
a Masters Degree in Classic Guitar and Composition and is a faculty member
at California State University, Sacramento. Greg has performed with
a wide variety of bands including his current endeavor,
currently
heard on NPR and Capitol Public Radio,
The Mind Club
was awarded a Sammie®
in the Best Jazz Band category for 2003. He is a
founder and board member of the
Sacramento Guitar Society,
and
composed/produced the 2002/2003 Sacramento Kings theme music for TV and
Radio.

my students not only a strong foundation in technique and theory, but to
help them have fun playing the guitar and give them an appreciation of the
rich heritage of guitar music of all styles." |

Ken Billeci
- received his
formal music training through American River and Sacramento State
Colleges, the latter under Professor Richard Savino. Ken continued
his jazz training under Henry Robinette, Dave Lynch, and Joel Peloquin in
Sacramento. He has taught and played professionally in Sacramento
for over 20 years, including a 10 year stint in the horn band On Air, for
which he transcribed and arranged numerous charts. Ken accepts
students of all playing levels and takes pride in providing a solid
musical foundation for everyone who studies with him. Check out his

Joe Lev -
Bass
Instructor, has been a fixture on the live music scene in Northern
California for more than 30 years. He has first hand knowledge of
many musical styles and aspects of the music business. He is also an
active freelancer on stage and in the studio. Joe believes that a
strong knowledge of the fundamentals of music is essential, but also
tailors the course of study to the individual students abilities and
goals. He has been teaching for 9 years, 4 of them at Guitar

Melissa Collard
- Guitarist and vocalist with a wide variety of experience and repertoire.
She's performed with respected musicians in the Northern California area
for the last 20 years.
She
holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from the University of
California Davis and is a graduate of the California State University
Sacramento, Graduate Studies Education/Credential Program, through Laney
Jr. College; Oakland Jazz Studies Program; and Sacramento City College
Music Studies Program. She has performed with such artists as the
Nelson Riddle Orchestra; Rex Allen's Swing Express and the Tommy Dorsey
Orchestra. Melissa has also performed at such venues as the
Sacramento Jazz Jubilee; Stockton Jazz on the Waterfront Festival and
Music in the Mountains just to name a few. Melissa was just recently
awarded the "Will Rogers Award" for "Best Female Western Swing Artist" by
the Academy of Western Artists. You can see the full list of winners

Tyson Graf
- A Cum Laude
graduate of Berklee College of Music, Boston, Tyson has been performing
since the age of 15. This has included solo performances for private
parties. He participated in the Jazz Studies program at American
River College-Sacramento, conducted by renowned local musician and
educator Joe Gilman.
Since the age of 17, Tyson has been involved with several Sacramento bands
performing numerous concerts throughout the region, including a
performance Dave Liebman. Tyson has undertaken extensive studies
with Mick Goodrick, Wayne Krantz and Hal Crook. He is fluent in
Jazz, Classical and Rock composition. He is also well versed in both
Jazz and Rock improvisation. Tyson's new album is called "Modifyde
- Say No More" and is available now at Guitar Workshop! |

- A graduate of the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, Alex has
an solid background in woodworking and guitar repair and has been apprenticing at Guitar Workshop for almost two years. |
